General information about the SPAR app

How much does the SPAR app cost?

Downloading the app doesn’t cost anything and there are no ongoing fees. Please note, that when using the SPAR app, an internet connection is required.

How do I get price advantages or discounts offered in the app without a smartphone or the SPAR app?

You are still able to receive our well known promotions that come in printed material such as catalogue, discount tokens, Jokers and vouchers. These will continue to exist.  There are however additional discounts that are offered within the app, and these offers and discounts can only be used if you have registered and using the app.  

Download and registration

Where can I download the SPAR app?

For Android devices, you can download the SPAR app from the Google Play Store. For iOS devices, you can download the SPAR app from the Apple App Store.  

Is registration required to use the app?

Yes, in order to use the app, registration is required, after which all the functionalities and benefits of the app will be available to you.  

How does registration work?

After downloading the app, you will need to provide your email, create a password and agree to the app’s general terms of use and give consent to the processing of personal data. After setting up your account, an email will be sent to your nominated email address for verification. After confirming your email, you can now sign in using your email address and password.  

What happens if I download the app again?

If you have a user account, you can log into your SPAR app again with your email address and password. All the benefits you have collected will remain within the app as well as your digital receipts, if you opted in for them.  

Can I use my account on a few different smartphones?

Yes, you can log into the SPAR app on 4 different devices.  

Can I delete my logged in account?

Yes. In the SPAR app, go to the section More --> Legal --> Delete SPAR user account. Your user account will be deleted.  

My SPAR Code

What it “My SPAR code”?

The SPAR code is like a personal customer (user) number/ personal barcode. It is a combination of letters and numbers under the barcode. It can be found on the SPAR app start screen when you click on the “SPAR Code”.  

How do I get my SPAR code?

The SPAR code is automatically generated and assigned after registration and is located on the home screen of the app. 

Why do I need the SPAR code?

The SPAR code represents your personal unique number within the app. By scanning the code at checkout, you can use it to collect and redeem Jokers and other promotional offers. 

Where does my SPAR code work?

The SPAR code works in Croatia in all SPAR, and INTERSPAR supermarkets, Interspar kiosks, integrated cafes, Tutto Bene and ToGo. You can use your SPAR code at all checkouts including the self-service checkouts.  

My SPAR code doesn't work, what can I do?

Please close the SPAR app and then restart it. If scanning your SPAR code still doesn't work, send us your request using the contact form on the SPAR website or in the app, click on the "the more" tab, head to "Help and Support" and then "Contact". 

Can I use a screenshot or record the barcode in another application, that I use for other cards for my SPAR code?

No, the barcode behind the SPAR code is constantly updated and is only valid for one minute. You must show the SPAR code from the SPAR app at checkout to take advantage of the benefits.  

App Vouchers

How can I redeem my SPAR app vouchers?

Simply have your SPAR code scanned at the checkout before paying and the discount will be automatically applied.  

How long are my SPAR app vouchers valid?

Information on the duration and conditions of using the voucher can be checked within the app, by opening the detailed information for each individual voucher.  

Why don’t I see any vouchers in my SPAR app?

If you have previously used all the vouchers, there is a possibility that additional vouchers will not be available for a certain amount of time. Please check your app again in a few days. If you do not receive any vouchers for a long period of time, send us your request using the contact on the SPAR website or in the app click on the "More" tab, head to "Help and Support" and then "Contact". 

Why do I have different vouchers than other app users?

In addition to the vouchers that are available to all users of the app, you may also get special vouchers. By analysing the contents of your shopping behaviour and use of the app, you allow us to create promotions and benefits that are relevant for you. If you choose your favourite store in the app, there is also a possibility that you will receive additional digital vouchers that are valid only for the specified location.  

Jokers 

What is a Joker?

Joker enables the purchase of one item with a certain percentage discount. A Joker gives a discount to the most expensive eligible item in your purchase. Jokers are available in your SPAR app. The validity period and the conditions of use are found in the SPAR app.  

Where can Jokers be redeemed?

You can redeem your Joker in all SPAR and INTERSPAR stores in Croatia. You can use the Jokers at normal checkouts and also at self-service checkouts. Please note that the Jokers are only deducted at the self-service checkouts once you have pressed "Pay"! 

What are the general terms of use for a Joker promotion?

Jokers can be used on products from a range of food, beverages, chemicals and cosmetics, in quantities for personal use. Carton beverage packaging or beverage crate is valid as 1 piece.  

Jokers cannot be used on promotional products, S-BUDGET, products whose prices are regulated by the decision of the Government of the Republic of Croatia on the price limitation of certain food products, all fresh meat, all fresh fish and sushi, baby formula, non food products, newspapers, books and tobacco products, loyalty program items, refund fees and packaging, cards and vouchers for mobile phones, SPAR gift cards, value cards, Selectbox gift packages. Discounts are not cumulative and cannot be combined. You can use a Joker with any payment method available at the point of sale.

How many Jokers can I redeem transaction?

You can redeem a maximum of four Jokers per transaction. Special Jokers do not count towards this total. 

How can I redeem Jokers?

To redeem Jokers, scan your SPAR code at the checkout before completing your payment. If you have multiple Jokers, you can disable automatic use and select the number of Jokers you want to apply to a transaction, up to the maximum allowed. Jokers will be used on the most expensive eligible item that meets the discount criteria. If you use more than one Joker, they will be applied to the most expensive eligible items in descending order (e.g., four Jokers on the four most expensive eligible items).  

Another example, if you want to redeem four Jokers, but there are only three items that are eligible and qualify for the discount in your purchase, only three Jokers will be redeemed automatically. The fourth Joker remains with you to use within the redemption period. You can redeem this on your next purchase and save again. 

Can I redeem fewer than four Jokers?

You decide how many Jokers you want to redeem per day. If you don't want to redeem all Jokers at once, but only want to redeem individual Jokers for this purchase, simply deactivate the "redeem all Jokers automatically" function, which you see under your SPAR code, using the green slider. You can now manually use the plus sign to choose how many Jokers you want to redeem for this purchase.  

 

Note: Special Jokers are automatically redeemed and cannot be manually removed 

How long are my Joker/s valid?

The period of validity as well as all details and redemption conditions of your Joker/s can be found in the “Jokers” overview by clicking on the respective Joker. If you have several Jokers with different validity periods, the Jokers that would provide you the greatest savings during that purchase will be deducted.  

Can I choose which product(s) I would like to redeem my Jokers for?

The Joker will automatically be redeemed on the most expensive eligible item in your purchase. If you have multiple Jokers available, the second Joker discount in the same transaction will automatically be applied on the second most expensive eligible item, etc. 

How is the Joker redeemed on my purchase at the delicatessen?

Jokers are valid for purchasing delicatessen. Each Joker refers to an entire quantity of cheese, sausage, meat or pastry. 

Can a Joker and other discounts be combined?

Please check the respective terms and conditions to determine if a Joker/s and other benefits can be used in combination. The advantage of the SPAR app is that it automatically takes into account every valid combination of digital vouchers, Jokers and other benefits in which you will automatically get the best possible savings for your purchase.

Can I share Jokers with others?

The Jokers are sent to individual registered users. Sending or sharing Jokers between users is not possible. 

Can I redeem my Jokers even if I don't have an internet connection?

You need an internet connection to use the app and redeem the vouchers and Jokers. Redeeming is not possible offline, using screenshots or printing. 

Which Jokers do I receive for my loyalty?

There are different Joker promotions available that will have different usage and collection times. For certain Jokers, certain terms and conditions must be met in order to receive them. For additional details and on the redemption conditions, find more information below or click on the Joker status bar or ikon in the Joker home section of the app.  

Welcome/Bonus Joker

Register to use the SPAR app and you will receive a four Welcome Jokers which must be used within defined period of downloading the app. You may also receive additional Bonus Jokers during a certain promotional period. Bonus Jokers will be sent to you by SPAR at its discrection.  

Shopping Joker 

After every tenth purchase of more than 10 euros, you will receive a Shopping Joker. To receive this Joker, use your SPAR code and scan it at the checkout with each transaction. Be careful when redeeming cashback vouchers or other coupons and discounts, as the total amount of the receipt applies. Be sure to leave a gap of at least 1 minutes between each transaction.  

Loyalty Joker 

For every 200 euros spent during the promotional period, you will receive a Loyalty Joker. Be careful when redeeming cashback vouchers or other coupons and discounts, as the total amount of the receipt applies. To take advantage of the discount, scan your SPAR code at the checkout each time before finalising your transaction.  

Special Joker

Special Jokers are Jokers that SPAR sends to you based on your personal shopping experience. For example, if you have shopped in the Pet Category, you may reiceve a Special Joker to redeem within the pet category. These Jokers are automatically redeemed the next time you shop in that category at SPAR.  

Where can I find the terms and conditions for the Jokers?

On the app home page, click on the "Jokers" thumbnail, which will take your directly on the bar that shows your current collection status. By entering the section "My Jokers" at the bottom of the app, there is a button "How the Jokers work" where you will find more information about the functionality of different Jokers. You can find more detailed terms and conditions use by clicking on each individual Joker. 

Will I receive a notification when (new) Jokers are available?

Once you have registered or later in the app under “More”, you can decide for yourself whether you would like to receive push notifications and/or agree to advertising messages. If you activate push notifications, you will receive a notification when new Jokers become available. If you agree to advertising communications, we will also actively inform you about other news and promotions under the “News” section. You can find an overview of your current Jokers and vouchers directly on the app's homepage, even without giving advertising consent.  

My savings and digital receipts

What is “My savings”?

Directly on the homepage of the SPAR app under “My savings” you can see how much you have already saved with your Jokers, vouchers etc. This is in the current year if you use your SPAR code at the checkout and with every transaction you have finalized.  The savings on your purchases will be counted towards the “My savings” total even if you have not activated “digital receipts”. 

How can I switch to digital receipts?

You can activate the “digital receipts” function under “More” in your SPAR app. If you have the SPAR code scanned at the checkout when you shop, you will now receive every invoice directly in your app. No printed receipt will be generated. 

If you don't have your cell phone with you, can you add “savings” into the app later?

It is not possible to post your shopping turnover afterwards. For all entries in the app you need to scan your SPAR code directly at the checkout before payment. 

How long are my digital receipts available in the app and can I sort through them?

Your digital receipts will be stored in your SPAR app for 24 months from the date of purchase. If you would like to keep individual receipts for a longer period of time, for example for a guarantee, you can also export the desired receipts as a PDF under “Detail view” and save it for yourself.  

You can also use the “Filter” button under “Receipts” to filter your digital receipts by year, month or by different market types (e.g. by INTERSPAR, or SPAR). 

If I lose or change my cell phone, where can I find my digital receipts?

You can view all your receipts stored in the app on your new cell phone when you log back into the app with your email address and a password. You also keep all your current benefits (example Jokers, vouchers etc.) 

Favourite Stores

How can I specify a favourite store?

First, find your favourite store by clicking on “Open map” at the top right of the homepage and agreeing to the use of the maps. By entering an address, zip code or location, stores in your area will be displayed. This also works if you simply share your location. Click on your favourite store from the locations displayed and then mark it in the detailed view with “♥ My store”.  You can choose up to three favourite stores in different locations.  

What advantages does my favourite store bring me?

In addition to all national promotions, vouchers and discounts, you may also receive current local vouchers and discounts for your favourite store.
